My name is Bill Fleming, and I wish I had more time for all of my interests, hobbies, and activities! I've always been interested in our family history, and I'm fortunate my parents and grandparents saved and shared so much information. I'm also lucky to be married to my wife, Melanie, who allowed me to hijack part of a vacation and allow me to "walk in the footsteps" of my great-great-grandfather.
While I want this blog project to be a historically accurate chronology of the events surrounding William Fleming's service during the Civil War, I don't intend for it to be a "history lesson." I do hope it it tells the story of the hardships faced by Fleming and others during the Civil War.
